The Churchyard of St.Chad's contains 9 Commonwealth War Graves including that of David Murry who was killed in the Dropinn Well Bombing in Ballykelly.

Hatherlow Congregational Church Memorial and Graves

The church (now a Reformed Church ) is on Hatherlow next to the Spread Eagle. Inside there is a marble plaque remembering local men from the two wars. and has a churchyard with 3 Commonwealth War Graves.

Romiley War Memorial. Outside the Duke of York on Stockport Road. Only remembers those from the Great War, there is a Wooden Plaque in St.Chad's commemorating men from the Second World War.

Long Lane War Memorial

Long Lane (Heald Green) War Memorial. On Wilmslow Road at its junction with Mona Avenue. This part of Wilmslow Road was once called Long Lane.




The main inscription reads.

Norbury St.Thomas

Norbury, (now part of Hazel Grove) St.Thomas has 26 Commonwealth War Graves in its churchyard.

It includes the grave of Albert Butterworth, who enlisted on 17 February 1917 and started training at Kinmel Camp on the North Wales coast. Five weeks later, after a bronchial attack, on the 21 March, he died of pneumonia in Rhyl Hospital. His body was returned home and buried on 24 March with full military honours.

It is also the resting place of Stephen Wynne VICKERS who was amongst the first recipients of the Distinguish Flying Cross.
