Compstall War Memorial

Compstall War Memorial is sited in the grounds of St.Paul's Church, at the bottom of Compstsall Brow just round the corner from Etherow Country Park. It commemorates 31 local men who died during the Great War.

The memorial is in the form of a cross on a tapering plinth, and is sat on four octagonal steps.




The main inscription reads.

TO THE GLORY
OF GOD AND
IN PROUD AND
LOVING MEMORY
OF THE
MEN OF COMPSTALL
WHO LAID DOWN
THEIR LIVES IN
THE GREAT WAR
1914-1919
