Cheadle Hulme War Memorial

Cheadle Hulme's war memorial is located in a small garden at the junction of Manor Road and Ravenoak Road. The memorial was unveiled 29 May 1921 and lists 86 men from The First and 61 from the Second World Wars. Included on the memorial is James Kirk a Victoria Cross recipient.

The main inscription on the rear reads.

THEY SHALL GROW NOT OLD AS WE THAT
ARE LEFT GROW OLD AGE SHALL NOT
WEARY THEM NOR THE YEARS CONDEMN
AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN AND IN
THE MORNING WE WILL REMEMBER THEM

A small inscription on the front reads.
