Alton St.Peters Churchyard

The cemetery extension of St.Peters has four Commonwealth War Graves. On my visit i was unable to locate the grave of George Taylor, I did come across a marker for George Hadfield who died in Germany whilst on National Service.

Buried On West boundary.


Private 37959 James PATTINSON.
Northumberland Fusiliers, 23rd (Tyneside Scottish) Bn. Attached to Labour Corps.
Died 17 Nov 1918 aged 37.
Buried In West part.


Corporal 626256 George Henry ROWLINSON.
Royal Air Force.
Died 25 Mar 1942 aged 23.
Buried North part
Son of Ernest and Annie May Rowlinson, of Farley.


Private 51213 George TAYLOR.
Lincolnshire Regiment, 3rd Bn.
Died 15 Nov 1918 aged 25.
Buried Near North entrance.
Son of John and Hannah Taylor, of Town Head, Alton.


Private 23095950 George HADFIELD.
Royal Army Ordinance Corps.
Died 15 Jul 1956 aged 20.
