Tean Christchurch War Memorial

The memorial cross in the churchyard of Christchurch, remembers 26 men from Tean and the surrounding area, who fell in the Great War. In addition there are 6 from the Second World War. The names are carved into the octagonal base of the cross.

Daughter of Andrew James and Florence Emily Beard, of The Rocks, Tean.


Sergeant 745670 Arthur HURST.
Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.
Died 16 Oct 1940, age 21.
Near N.E. corner of church.
Son of Joseph and Florence Hurst, of Tean.
